SENIOR RETAIL STORE ASSOCIATE
Downtown, Boise, Idaho
Scenic. The Storied Home, lifestyle and home furnishings shop, is seeking a senior retail sales associate. Sales associates are responsible for creating a high end shopping experience through superior customer service and product knowledge in a beautiful showroom in downtown Boise. Ideal candidates will have a true love of interior design and be extremely personable with a strong work ethic. This is a role that requires a genuine love of retail, people and customer service and supporting the needs of the shop and our team as they arise.
Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.
Scenic hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10am to 5pm and Monday by appointment only.
Occasionally Scenic will host events and workshops that may require support outside the hours listed above.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a warm, welcoming & inspiring shopping experience by greeting & engaging with customers and providing assistance as needed. Maintain the welcoming, inviting feel of our brand by thanking every customer.
Demonstrate an authentically friendly yet elevated level of sales and service through communication, product knowledge, body language & morale.
Ensure showroom floor and back areas are well presented and stocked. Product should be clean, organized and arranged for optimal display.
Conduct sales transactions on POS, accurately ringing up items and packing with care and attention. Monitor e-comm sales, carefully packing items and shipping out online orders.
Provide relevant design advice, samples, product knowledge and product recommendations.
Provide and assist with customer service as needed via in-person interactions, phone and email, while offering expert product knowledge.
Drive customer retention and loyalty. Resolve client needs quickly through swift communication.
Prepare quotes, take detailed furniture orders and communicate with leadership regarding orders. Communication with vendors as necessary.
Assist in receipt of shipments and store merchandising; inspect packages for damage, communicate with leadership regarding damage claims. Receiving new inventory and managing existing inventory.
Maintain the storefront (cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, water plants, etc).
Create photo and video content to promote products online and in-store.
Work closely with owners and the rest of the team to streamline the business and grow sales.
Complete tasks assigned by leadership.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1 year of retail or relevant sales experience in interiors/home furnishings, relevant retail brand or client service industry.
Extremely reliable and high accountability.
Must be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
Willingness to ask questions and seek solutions; a self starter who takes initiative with ability to prioritize and complete tasks is an absolute must.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and attention to detail and customer service skills, willingness to engage with clients.
Availability to work during opening shop hours, Tuesday-Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, with the occasional evening for special events.
Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area. Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
Candidate must have ability to pick up items locally as necessary and run errands as instructed by leadership.
Organized, efficient and aesthetically/visually inclined (gift wrapping, merchandising).
